About Nigel
Nigel lives at home in Chelmsford with his wife and two daughters and Noah the cockerpoo. He spent 30 years as a market data specialist working for major corporate institutions in London and Europe.
In 2010 Nigel changed direction to embark upon a full time career in Music.
Since setting up Nigel Chapman Music Nigel has provided music curriculum lessons to local primary schools and taught one to one piano and music theory lessons in school and privately.
Nigel has always had a very keen interest in music following many genres from rock to classical. He learnt to play the piano from his father, Ron and piano teacher Geoffrey Ball in Brentwood. Whilst at school he studied ABRSM piano up to Grade 8 and Music theory up to to Grade 6. Also Nigel has also passed Grade 5 for clarinet. More recently Nigel obtained a Diploma in music from the Open University in 2012 with modules on general music theory, composition and performance.
Nigel has directed Summer, Harvest and Christmas concerts for primary schools (St. Anne's and Baddow Hall Juniors). He also spent 10 years playing for the church at New Hall Chapel. Nigel also worked for Essex Music Services for 10 years as a First action music specialist. Nigel has taken part in Friday lunchtime concerts at Chelmsford Cathedral and performed for local private functions for weddings and gatherings.
